With most of the faithful devils still wondering about SAF's decision (his 'punt' in his own words) to present Michael Owen with the talismatic No. 7 jersey in United colors, I am somehow inclined to think that this is a wager that would tilt in SAF's favor. And with four goals in as many games during the eastern tour, Owen has shown glimpses of brilliance that had made him the most dangerous poacher on English soil a few years back. But the biggest question in everyone's mind is regarding the fitness (or the lack of it at times due to some of the most unfortunate injuries in recent past) of the man, rather than his undeniable talent.
I think his greatest contributions will be seen in the Champion's League and the domestic cups, where his split second goals in the box will hurt the opponents more. And all this hype will also keep Berbatov on his toes, as he would now know that he has to do a lot better this time around, with a proven goalscorer breathing down his neck for a place in the starting XI all the time.
